On 29 September 2026, The Continuum Initiative joined Good Start Charity Foundation for a visit to Ban Nong Taphao School (โรงเรียนบ้านหนองตะเภา) in Hua Hin, Thailand. Guided by the foundation’s Founder and President, Roger Perrin, and school director Wanida Krukart, we toured the campus and learned about early education, with a particular focus on literacy and basic numeracy.

A visit to the classroom, with attention to the children’s everyday learning and the foundations they are building.
The everyday work of learning
Around shared classroom tables, children looked down at their worksheets and worked on the tasks in front of them. Alphabet displays and teaching cards lined the walls; learning materials lay on the tables, and school bags hung from the backs of chairs. These ordinary details framed what mattered most during the visit: the children’s engagement with their learning.
Recognising letters and understanding numbers are important early steps. These skills develop through repeated practice, supported by patient teaching, suitable materials and a consistent classroom environment.
Understanding the classroom
The visit offered an opportunity to learn about the work of Good Start and the school, and to better understand the time, care and sustained effort that early learning requires.
A small contribution to everyday needs
During the visit, The Continuum Initiative also provided learning materials and everyday supplies as a modest contribution to the children’s needs.
